Matches.
It should cost no isk to attack, have a max clone setting and pay no isk whatsoever. Maybe get to keep salvaged from killed enemies but that's it(and it's a maybe)
The purpose would be to allow corps to have friendly battles with each other and to allow newer members to train with their corp.
I got the idea when I posted in Clone D's thread about wanting to have mlt only battles.

Adan Montano Pietsch wrote:Mlt only battles would be amazing, i feel like this renting thing could get exploited however. +1/2 I'm all for mlt only battles tho, as long as they pay no isk, or salvage. Sp should stick, however. Maybe instead of renting, just make it public AND give player corps that have districts one by default for private friendly matches. The renting part and having players running it is what is throwing me off a bit. Yeah, the whole idea here was to find a work around to get corp battles back in. Some mlt only corp battles would be a refresashing change of pace.

Loyal Glasses wrote:Before you guys all ask for this let's find both the pros and cons of this idea. Just a thought. Pros:
Being able to challenge another corp to a battle like in the olden days.
Allow you to have training matches for newer players or those unfamiliar with PCs.
Allows corps to have events, tourneys or other wacky thing the current system doesn't allow(All mlt, demolition durby, foot race, free for all)
Possible to make some cool videos for dust.
Allows people to have a testing ground for weapons, fits and vehicles. Will also possibly allow people to test if weapons and things are functioning as intended.
Cons:
Only corps will be able to use them. So lone mercs may be left out in the dust(no pun intended) ^solution: have NPC corps have a bunch of high sec districts that allow for training.
People in corps would have access to a training district. ^Solution:Set up and ask the corp leader if he can set something for test. Or introduce a training arena that acts as a dojo of sorts that would allow you and up to 5 other people in to practice(seems like that won't ever happen though)
I can't think of anything else.

Loyal Glasses wrote:A better way would be to pay NPC corps to allow players to use their district for a certain amount of time. No Isk or salvage. Just so gain but anything you lose is final. That seems a lot more trickier to implement(of course, I have no idea if it is or isn't)

You could make them public or private, maybe set the numbers like 8 vs 8 etc, choose your map, mode, and FF.
This would give you more flexibility for training among other things without having to get districts into the mix.
How feasible the idea is is a whole other question though. Honestly, this would be ideal and the perfect way to go about it.
However.
The reason I suggested we go about it with the whole district thing is because CCP can't figure out how to code corp battles back into the game. So this is meant to be a kind of work around to that problem.

I understand but I feel permanently owning a district is no good. PC is bad enough some lock theirs. The district wouldn't grant any bonuses to the corp that owns it though, it would only be used to set up training matches mostly.

Piercing Serenity wrote:What about this:
- Corps can select timers for when their district is available for other corps to rent their space to practice. Selecting this option will open a dialogue box where the attacking CEO is notified that they will have to pay an ISK cost (determined by the district holder) to attack during this time. This would be the equivalent of renting space.
- Rental timers can set to be daily, weekly, or monthly, and can be adjusted by paying a low CP cost
- Corps can select their own district for an "Attack" - which would be called Training Match (or something similar) - at any time.
- In training matches, all gear is destroyed, no ISK is gained, no SP is gained
As in corps can select a district they already own to rent? I do like the idea, but I'd like corps without district to be able to train and set up matches as well.
Hmmm, what do you think of instead of owning a district, it could be a MCC with a "Holodeck" or something like that?

How feasible the idea is is a whole other question though. I agree with One Eyed King because permanently owning a District for training purposes would be too complicated and this way you can choose what map you want and the amount of players . Also at the end of battle I think that all gear be returned not you and you don't get any ISK just SP. This would allow for people to experiment with new fits and give rookie players a chance to see what PC's are all about . Just my thoughts I'm thinking of more to be a less tangible thing though, like you wouldn't get a actual district, it would just behave like one for setting up matches then provide no ISK/SP.
